Bitcoin Treasury Strategy takes root
A Shift in crypto sentiment

A Massive Shift in General Crypto Sentiment

Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski stated that the firm had plans to spend up to $20 million in Bitcoin purchases. Rumble ventured into the Bitcoin Treasury Strategy on January 20, 2025, when President Donald Trump was inaugurated without disclosing the number of coins it purchased. Clarifying its intentions on the matter at the time, the firm said:

“The actual timing and value of additional Bitcoin purchases, if any, will be determined by management at its discretion […] Bitcoin allocation strategy may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.”

Over the last two years, there has been renewed interest in cryptocurrencies, and the market has experienced a massive shift in general sentiment. While the prices haven’t been too stable in 2025 yet, discussions about the potential for a favorable regulatory framework have made Bitcoin among the contenders of the leading asset class during this era. The US President brought the possibility closer home by signing an executive order to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

Bitcoin as Part of Treasury Strategy

The recent developments have seen different companies embrace Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin Treasury strategy, believing it is an emerging asset class. The company has stated that depending on market conditions, it will continue to purchase Bitcoin for cash needs. Moreover, the latest purchase reaffirms its belief and commitment to the industry and the token. Company CEO Pavlovski said in a press release:

“We are excited to announce these purchases and allocations of Bitcoin as part of our Treasury strategy as well as a larger strategic move as we further expand our ties to the crypto industry […] these holdings have the potential to serve as a valuable hedge against inflation and will not be subject to dilution like so many overprinted government-issued currencies […] we are proud to officially hold Bitcoin as we continue to grow and engrain crypto into our company’s DNA.”

Bearish Sentiment Tied To Fears of Recession

Rumble’s decision to purchase additional Bitcoin comes at a time when the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has fallen sharply and dropped to their lowest since the post-election Trump pump, which saw the flagship cryptocurrency hit an all-time high of $109K. The current bearish sentiment is tied to macroeconomic fears of recession and inflation caused by the Trump administration’s proposed tariffs targeting some of their strongest trade partners.

Conclusion

Despite the ongoing bearish market sentiment, institutional crypto adoption, especially regarding Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin Treasury Strategy, remains quite strong. Rumble’s plan to purchase even more Bitcoin as the market conditions improve is a clear sign of business entities’ recognition of Bitcoin as a favorable financial asset. Rumble joins Strategy, Metaplanet, and others who have firmly bought into the Bitcoin Treasury Strategy.
